Bundi (Rajasthan) — In line with its ‘zero tolerance’ policy against corruption, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Rajasthan has registered a case against a patwari for allegedly demanding a bribe to update online revenue records for a mutual land division. According to the complaint, Ramkishen Meena, Patwari of Daulatpura halqa in Indragarh tehsil, Bundi district, demanded ₹10,000 from Lakshmichand Meena, a resident of Sumerganj Mandi, for processing the online mutation of family land in Gram Hardevganj.
The division of khatedari land among the complainant and his brothers had already been approved by the Tehsildar, Indragarh, on January 19, 2026. When Lakshmichand Meena approached the patwari to get the records updated in the online system, Ramkishen Meena allegedly took ₹5,000 in advance and demanded the remaining ₹5,000.
The patwari reportedly told the complainant, “Until you pay the money, the work will not be done, because it has to be done through my own ID.”
ACB Verification and Trap Operation
Following the complaint, the ACB Kota unit, under the direction of Additional Superintendent of Police Mukul Sharma, conducted a verification. On January 23, 2026, officials used a digital voice recorder and confirmed the bribe demand and the partial payment already made.
The ACB laid a trap on January 29 and 30, 2026, to catch the patwari red-handed. However, Ramkishen Meena allegedly evaded the trap by giving excuses of field work and his wife’s illness, and later left for Jaipur. He subsequently went on long leave and handed over charge to another patwari.
Despite the failed trap, the ACB had sufficient technical and digital evidence against him. Based on a report submitted by Inspector Anita Verma, an FIR was registered against Ramkishen Meena under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act at CPS Thana, Jaipur.
The investigation has been handed over to Deputy Superintendent of Police Harish Bharti of ACB Bundi by Superintendent of Police Piyush Dixit. This case highlights ongoing efforts by the ACB to act against corrupt officials in the revenue department, even when the accused attempts to evade arrest.
