DAUSA / JAIPUR – In a swift anti-corruption strike, the Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested the Chief Manager of the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) Dausa depot on Wednesday for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe from a subordinate. The senior official reportedly demanded the money to process a simple medical leave application.

The accused, identified as Vishram Meena, was caught red-handed by the ACB Alwar-I unit during a trap operation at his office.

Exploiting a Sick Employee

The investigation was triggered by a complaint from Rewadmal Mali, a bus conductor at the Dausa depot. Mali reported that he had been on medical leave from December 18, 2025, to January 18, 2026, due to illness.

Upon returning to duty, Mali submitted his medical certificates and necessary clearance documents to the office LDC, Bhagwat. However, when he approached Chief Manager Vishram Meena on March 25 to finalize the approval of his leave, Meena allegedly demanded ₹20,000 as a bribe and began harassing him over the pending paperwork.

The Trap and Scientific Evidence

Mali refused to pay the bribe and instead contacted the ACB helpline (1064). Under the direction of ACB Director General of Police Govind Gupta, a confidential verification process was launched:

  • Verification: The ACB confirmed the bribe demand during discreet recordings on April 2 and April 7, 2026.
  • The Arrest (April 8): As the complainant handed over the chemically treated currency notes in the Chief Manager’s office, Meena accepted the cash and placed it in his back pocket.
  • Scientific Proof: ACB officials immediately apprehended him. A chemical wash of Meena’s hands and his pant pocket turned light pink, providing scientific evidence that he had handled the bribe money.

Wider Corruption Under the Scanner

While Meena has been arrested and booked under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, the investigation is expanding. ACB sources indicate that several other officials in the RSRTC Traffic Branch may also be under the scanner for allegedly extorting money from conductors in exchange for favorable duty assignments.

“The bureau is currently searching the office and residential premises of the accused to check for further evidence of corruption,” stated an official. The case has now been handed over to DSP Ravindra Singh Shekhawat of the ACB Dausa unit for further investigation.
