KHAIRTHAL-TIJARA: In a significant move against corruption, the Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) apprehended an Agriculture Supervisor in the Khairthal-Tijara district for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe from a local farmer. The official was caught red-handed while accepting the final installment of a bribe meant to facilitate the release of government subsidies for irrigation equipment.
The Accused and the Complaint
The accused has been identified as Ramswaroop Yadav, son of Sujaram Yadav, a resident of Jobner. Yadav was posted as an Agriculture Supervisor at the Gram Panchayat Sihali Khurd in the Mundawar Tehsil of Khairthal-Tijara district.
The investigation began following a complaint lodged by Sandeep Kumar Yadav (33), a resident of the same village. According to the complainant, he had applied for subsidies for five fountain (sprinkler) pipeline files through the Rajasthan Kisan Portal in December 2025. Ramswaroop Yadav allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹1,100 per file (totaling ₹5,500) to process and approve these applications.
Digital Money Trail and Persistent Harassment
The investigation revealed a calculated attempt to hide the bribery through digital means. On March 12, 2026, the accused reportedly instructed the farmer to transfer ₹2,000 via PhonePe to a QR code belonging to a third party, identified as Jaypal Kumar.
Despite the farmer receiving the government subsidy of ₹18,000 per file on March 31, 2026, the supervisor continued to harass him for the remaining ₹2,500. The complainant alleged that Yadav made frequent WhatsApp calls and even visited his home to pressure him for the balance.
The ACB Trap and Arrest
Following the formal complaint, the ACB unit in Bhiwadi initiated a verification process:
- Verification (April 6, 2026): During a meeting at a tea stall in Kishangarh Bas, the bribe amount was negotiated down from ₹2,500 to ₹1,500. The farmer handed over ₹500 as a partial payment, which the ACB verified.
- The Final Trap (April 7, 2026): A trap was laid at the Gram Panchayat building in Sihali Khurd. As soon as Ramswaroop Yadav accepted the remaining ₹1,000 and tucked it into his pocket, the ACB team, led by Deputy SP Parmeshwar Lal, moved in and apprehended him.
Scientific Evidence and Legal Action
To solidify the case, the ACB performed a chemical test where the suspect’s hands were washed in a sodium carbonate solution. The solution turned pink, confirming contact with the phenolphthalein-coated currency notes used in the trap.
The ACB has registered a case against Ramswaroop Yadav under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (Amended 2018). The operation was conducted under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Sunil Sihag. This arrest highlights the bureau’s ongoing efforts to protect farmers from administrative exploitation and ensure that welfare benefits reach their intended recipients without illegal deductions.
