Jaipur: Rajasthan’s power sector has witnessed a major anti-corruption push after Jaipur Discom CMD Aarti Dogra reportedly initiated strict action against tainted engineers, blacklisted contractors and officials allegedly linked to financial irregularities. According to reports, the administration has adopted a zero-tolerance approach aimed at cleaning up the utility and reopening files connected to past scam allegations.
Sources indicate that several controversial cases involving contracts, engineering works and payments are under renewed scrutiny. Officials suspected of colluding with debarred firms and causing losses to the department may face disciplinary proceedings. Internal reviews are also said to be examining retired and serving officers whose decisions allegedly benefited questionable contractors.
The development comes amid recent controversy after a court matter concerning Aarti Dogra drew public attention. However, subsequent legal relief from a division bench reportedly strengthened her administrative position, allowing the anti-corruption drive to continue with greater momentum.
Earlier this year, irregularities in Jaipur Discom’s RDSS works were also reported, where action was initiated against officials and a contractor after discrepancies in field execution and billing surfaced. That case added to concerns over governance standards in the state power utility system.
Administrative sources say a broader restructuring may now be on the cards, including transfers, audits and tighter contract monitoring. The crackdown is being seen as a significant test of Rajasthan’s promise of transparency and accountability in public sector undertakings.
Observers believe the coming weeks may reveal whether the campaign results in concrete prosecutions, recoveries and systemic reforms, or remains limited to internal departmental action.
