In a significant decision aimed at honoring one of Rajasthan’s most respected political leaders, the Jaipur Municipal Corporation (Greater) has approved the proposal to rename Central Park and a major stretch of Tonk Road after former Vice President of India Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, fondly remembered across the state as “Babosa.”

Under the approved proposal, Jaipur’s iconic Central Park—one of the city’s most popular recreational destinations—will be renamed in honour of Bhairon Singh Shekhawat.

Along with Central Park, a prominent stretch of Tonk Road has also been approved for renaming after Bhairon Singh Shekhawat.
