Jaipur, May 22: Rajasthan’s crackdown on competitive examination fraud intensified after the Special Operations Group Rajasthan arrested a government school teacher allegedly involved in appearing as a dummy candidate in the Rajasthan Public Service Commission Senior Teacher Recruitment Examination.
The accused, identified as Manoharlal Manju, had a reward of ₹10,000 announced for information leading to his arrest. Investigators revealed that he was currently serving as a Level-1 teacher at the Government Primary School located in Jaga Ki Dhani (Sevada) area of Raniwara tehsil in Jalore district.
Fraud Linked to RPSC Senior Teacher Examination-2022
According to Vishal Bansal, the case is connected to the Senior Teacher (Secondary Education) Second Grade Competitive Examination-2022 conducted by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission.
Investigators said that on January 29, 2023, the accused allegedly appeared as a dummy candidate at an examination centre in Bharatpur on behalf of another aspirant.
The re-examination had been conducted after the original General Knowledge and Educational Psychology paper held on December 24, 2022, was cancelled due to a paper leak controversy.
Original Candidate Had Secured Government Job
SOG officials stated that the actual candidate, Anil Kumar Meena, allegedly cleared the examination fraudulently by using the dummy candidate arrangement and subsequently secured appointment as a Senior Teacher (Science).
The main candidate had already been arrested by SOG on September 4, 2024.
Alleged Mastermind and Dummy Candidate Network
During investigation, SOG reportedly uncovered the role of Darshan Lal Meena, also known as Ramprakash Meena, who is accused of acting as a key middleman in arranging dummy candidates for recruitment examinations.
Officials said the investigation initially relied only on suspicious photographs obtained during the probe. However, SOG’s technical teams allegedly used advanced photo-matching technology and detailed digital analysis to identify Manoharlal Manju as the person who appeared in the examination.
Following verification, the accused was tracked down and arrested.
Further Interrogation Underway
SOG has registered a case against the accused and launched further interrogation to uncover the larger network involved in the examination fraud racket.
According to ADG Vishal Bansal, investigators expect more revelations regarding:
- Other dummy candidates involved in recruitment examinations
- Brokers and middlemen operating the racket
- Possible links to organized paper leak syndicates
- Recruitment fraud networks operating across Rajasthan
SOG teams are currently conducting searches for absconding agents and other members of the alleged syndicate.
Crackdown on Recruitment Exam Fraud Continues
Rajasthan has witnessed multiple controversies in recent years involving paper leaks, impersonation, and recruitment examination fraud, leading to growing public concern over the integrity of competitive exams.
Authorities have intensified investigations into organized cheating networks, particularly in recruitment examinations for government jobs.
Officials say the ongoing operation aims to dismantle the entire ecosystem involved in manipulating competitive examinations and restore credibility to the state’s recruitment process.
The investigation in the present case is continuing.
