Jaipur: The NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case in Rajasthan has now snowballed into a major political controversy, with the opposition accusing the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of shielding individuals allegedly linked to the exam scam. The arrest of the main accused, Dinesh Biwal, and his brother Mangilal has triggered a fierce political battle after Congress leaders claimed that the accused had close ties with BJP leaders and office-bearers.

The controversy intensified after Congress leaders released photographs and posters allegedly showing Dinesh Biwal identifying himself as a BJP Yuva Morcha office-bearer. The opposition has alleged that the delay in filing an FIR and initiating strong action points toward “political protection” being extended to the accused.

Opposition Raises Questions Over BJP Links

Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully shared multiple social media posts and posters purportedly featuring Dinesh Biwal as “District Minister, Jaipur Rural, BJP Yuva Morcha.” Jully questioned whether the Bhajanlal Sharma-led government deliberately delayed action in order to protect individuals associated with the ruling party.

Congress leaders alleged that despite early information about the paper leak racket, the government did not act decisively for several days. The opposition claims this delay allowed crucial links in the network to remain active.

Alleged ₹30 Lakh Deal for NEET Paper

According to investigation agencies, Dinesh Biwal and his brother Mangilal allegedly purchased the leaked NEET-UG 2026 question paper from Gurugram for nearly ₹30 lakh. The paper was reportedly circulated among select candidates in Sikar on April 29 through private groups and WhatsApp channels.

Investigators suspect that the accused acted as an important bridge between coaching operators, middlemen, and organized paper leak syndicates operating across multiple states. Agencies are now probing financial transactions, digital communication records, and possible involvement of additional facilitators linked to the racket.

Viral Photos Add Political Heat

The political storm deepened after several photographs of the accused with senior BJP leaders went viral on social media.

Some of the images allegedly show Dinesh Biwal with Rajasthan Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and Education Minister Madan Rathore. Another viral image reportedly shows Mangilal wearing an RSS uniform. Photographs and public hoardings featuring the accused alongside Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal have further fueled opposition allegations of political proximity.

While the authenticity and context of these photographs are still being debated politically, the images have become a major flashpoint in the ongoing controversy.

Congress Launches Coordinated Attack

Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot accused the BJP government of protecting an “education mafia” that is allegedly destroying the future of students.

Rajasthan Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasra termed the incident a “classic case of political patronage,” alleging that the accused enjoyed access to influential political circles.

Senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot demanded an independent judicial probe into the entire paper leak network. He also questioned the outcome of previous investigations into similar examination scams and asked whether any systemic reforms had actually been implemented.

BJP Maintains Silence, Says Law Will Take Its Course

The BJP has so far avoided issuing any detailed official response to the opposition’s allegations. However, party sources stated that the law will take its own course and that no accused person would be spared if found guilty, regardless of political affiliation.

Meanwhile, the NEET-UG 2026 controversy has once again raised serious concerns over the credibility of competitive examinations in Rajasthan and across the country. With nearly 24 lakh students appearing for the examination nationwide, the issue has become a matter of national concern, sparking outrage among students, parents, and coaching communities.

Investigation agencies, including Rajasthan Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG), are continuing their probe into the alleged interstate paper leak network. More arrests and political confrontations are expected in the coming days as investigators examine digital evidence, financial trails, and connections between accused individuals and coaching operators.
