Jaipur: The investigation into the NEET-2026 paper leak case has intensified as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Rajasthan’s Special Operations Group (SOG) carried out a joint operation leading to the production of four detained suspects before a judicial officer in Jaipur.

The accused were presented on Wednesday at the residence of Judicial Officer Dharmendra Kumar Sharma in Jaipur’s Durgapura area. Considering the seriousness of the case, the court granted the CBI one-day transit remand of the suspects.

Following the court’s order, the CBI team reportedly left Jaipur with the accused under tight security for further interrogation and investigation.

Marathon Interrogation at SOG Headquarters

Before being produced before the court, the suspects were subjected to nearly 9 to 10 hours of intensive questioning at the SOG headquarters in Jaipur.

According to sources familiar with the investigation, officials questioned the accused regarding:

  • The origin of the leaked question paper
  • Their communication network
  • Financial transactions linked to the leak
  • Possible involvement of additional members in the racket

During the court proceedings, the suspects reportedly covered their faces to avoid media cameras gathered outside the premises.

Digital Evidence Under Scanner

Investigating agencies are now focusing heavily on digital and financial evidence to uncover the larger network behind the alleged leak.

Officials are examining:

  • Mobile phone data
  • Call Detail Records (CDR)
  • WhatsApp chats and digital communication
  • Electronic transactions linked to payments for leaked papers

Cyber experts are also believed to be assisting investigators in tracing deleted chats, virtual payment trails, and interstate communication channels connected to the accused.

Coaching Centre Angle Emerges

One of the major aspects under investigation is the possible connection between the suspects and coaching institutes operating in Rajasthan.

Sources indicate that agencies are probing whether any coaching syndicates or middlemen were involved in obtaining and circulating the leaked examination paper among candidates before the examination.

The alleged involvement of organized educational networks has raised fresh concerns over the security and credibility of national-level competitive examinations.

Agencies Investigating Leak Source and Supply Chain

The primary focus of investigators is now to identify the exact stage at which the NEET question paper was leaked.

Officials are examining multiple possible leak points, including:

  • Printing facilities
  • Transportation channels
  • Examination centres
  • Distribution networks

Investigators suspect that the racket may have operated through a well-organized supply chain extending beyond Rajasthan into neighboring states.

Interstate Network Under Probe

Preliminary findings reportedly suggest that the paper leak syndicate may have links across multiple states, indicating the possibility of a larger organized examination fraud network.

The CBI and SOG are expected to conduct coordinated raids and interrogations in the coming days to identify the alleged masterminds and financial beneficiaries behind the operation.

The case has once again sparked national debate over the security of competitive examinations and the growing influence of organized paper leak mafias in India.
