Congress MP and Former DGP Calls NEET Leak a “Organised Crime,” Questions Failure to Reach Masterminds

Tonk: The political storm surrounding the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak continues to intensify in Rajasthan, with Congress MP and former Director General of Police (DGP) Harish Chandra Meena launching a sharp attack on the handling of the investigation. During his visit to Tonk, Meena described the paper leak scandal as a serious assault on the future of India’s youth and questioned why investigating agencies were focusing only on those who purchased the leaked paper rather than identifying the individuals responsible for distributing it.

The former top police officer termed the scandal an example of “organised crime” and demanded a deeper, impartial probe aimed at exposing the masterminds behind the nationwide examination leak network.

“Why Does Every Major Scam Lead Back to Rajasthan and Sikar?”

Raising concerns over the recurring link between examination scams and Rajasthan, particularly the coaching hub of Sikar, Harish Meena questioned the systemic failures allowing such networks to flourish.

He said that every major irregularity somehow seems to circle back to Rajasthan and eventually to Sikar, which has become one of India’s largest coaching centres attracting students from across the country.

According to Meena, the repeated emergence of paper leak allegations from the same region raises serious questions about the existence of well-organised criminal syndicates operating behind the scenes.

“Why does every major irregularity eventually point towards Rajasthan and then Sikar? Sikar is a major coaching hub where students from across India come to study, but why are such gangs continuously flourishing there without being dismantled?” he asked.

“Paper Buyers Are Small Players”

The Congress MP strongly criticized what he described as selective action by investigative agencies. He argued that students or parents purchasing leaked papers are often desperate individuals trapped by pressure and competition, while the real beneficiaries and masterminds remain untouched.

Meena said the central issue is not merely identifying who bought the paper but uncovering the powerful individuals responsible for leaking and distributing confidential examination material.

“The person buying the paper is usually a very small player who gets trapped while trying to secure his child’s future. The real question is — who is distributing the paper? Unless the big ‘crocodiles’ behind the distribution network are arrested, this cycle will never stop,” Meena said.

His remarks are being seen as a direct challenge to both state and central investigating agencies currently probing the NEET leak case.

Calls for a Transparent and Unbiased Investigation

Harish Meena emphasized that the issue should not be viewed through a political lens but as a matter concerning the credibility of India’s education system and the future of millions of students.

He warned that repeated examination leaks are damaging public trust in competitive examinations and creating psychological distress among deserving students who prepare honestly for years.

The Congress leader demanded a transparent, high-level investigation capable of identifying the complete chain involved in the leak — from printing and transportation to coaching networks, middlemen, and financial handlers.

Concern Over India’s Global Image

The former DGP also expressed concern about the international impact of recurring examination scams in India. He stated that such incidents not only demoralize students but also tarnish the country’s global reputation in the education sector.

According to Meena, India’s credibility as a destination for academic excellence suffers when high-profile national examinations repeatedly come under suspicion due to organised cheating rackets.

He urged authorities to ensure strict accountability and systemic reforms so that similar incidents do not occur in the future.

Political Heat Rising Over NEET Leak

The NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case has already triggered major political debate across Rajasthan and other states. Multiple agencies, including the CBI and Rajasthan SOG, are investigating alleged interstate networks linked to leaked question papers, coaching operators, middlemen, and digital circulation channels.

Opposition parties have accused authorities of shielding influential individuals involved in the racket, while investigators continue questioning suspects and examining financial and digital evidence.

Harish Meena’s remarks are expected to further intensify political pressure on the government over the handling of the case and the demand to expose the “real masterminds” behind the leak.
